Region’s Walking, Hiking and Biking Trails Now Available on the Web

Walkers and bicyclists are a click away from discovering a walking, hiking or biking trail in the five-county

area including St. Louis City and St. Louis and St. Charles Counties in Missouri and Madison and St. Clair

Counties in Illinois . Trailnet, a not-for-profit that promotes bicycle and pedestrian activities that enriches the

bi-state St. Louis region recently launched the Trails and Bikeways section of their Web site that includes

 an interactive regional map. The bi-state area offers many resources to the public, including more than 80

walking, hiking and biking trails. Web site visitors may search for trails using the interactive map or by trail

attributes including: name, length, type (paved trail, unpaved trail or paved on-road bikeway), uses (biking,

walking or equestrian), surface (asphalt, concrete, crushed limestone, dirt or oil and chip), terrain and

county. Additional information on each trail includes: attractions, contact information and a link to Google
