Refreshments and discussion will follow the presentation Spring 2008 Computer and Electronic Recycling Drives Sunday, May 18 from 9am-4pm YMCA Meyer Center; Goshen Rd.; Edwardsville, IL Saturday, May 31 from 9a-4pm Jerseyville Banking Center; Jerseyville, IL Saturday, June 7 from 9am-4pm Senior Citizens Center; 101 W. Silver; Marine, IL Saturday, June 21 from 9am-4pm Downtown Collinsville Library Parking lot; Collinsville, IL Saturday, June 28 from 9am-4pm Southwestern Illinois College; Route 3; Granite City, IL We'll take anything that has/had a battery or plug, except Freon containing appliances- sorry! Everything will be accepted for free except the following: T.V's $15; Computer Monitors $10; Large Appliances $5. The fees will be used to offset the charges made for recycling the lead glass contained in the Cathode Ray Tubes, which have about 9-16% lead (4 to11 pounds each!) and other harmful materials. The Sierra Club does not keep any of the funds. Alton's Flower Pot Recycling Drive Sunday, May 18th, 8am-11am Saturday, June 21st, 8am-11am Any size plastic pot and 6-packs (like annuals come in) will be accepted for re-use through the Missouri Botanical Garden's program at Alton’s Riverfront Park. Are you concerned about environmental issues in Madison and surrounding counties? Then, you may want to join us! The Sierra Club is involved in numerous conservation efforts in the River Bend region. We hold monthly educational meetings about environmental topics and offer local outdoor outings that anyone can participate in. We are also active in issues that affect our community such as air and water pollution, land use, and forest issues. |
